You think that jury selection involves attorneys who simply walk into a room and pick those jurors that they like. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Jury selection has nothing to do with picking jurors whom we like.

The better term for this legal process should be called jury de-selection.

Each lawyer is given the chance to remove a specific number of potential jurors whom they don't like.

After each side has removed those jurors they do not like, whoever's left sitting, becomes a juror by default.

From the time you get that dreaded jury summons until the time that you are actually picked to participate on a jury, I explain what happens every step of the way.
