The Death Warrant Of King Charles I

One of the most shocking moments in English History saw the King of England Charles I lose his head in 1649 outside the Banqueting House in London. Charles had lost the English Civil War and he would be then brought to trial and this was rather short but he was accused of treason against his own people. But within days of the trial beginning, Charles I would be sentenced to death.

The document that ordered the execution of King Charles I was his death warrant, and this still exists today. It was signed by 59 different commissioners including his enemy Oliver Cromwell. But the death warrant of King Charles changed history forever.
