Rare Fireplace Copper Ashtray Restoration (Beach Found Restoration)

This week i am restoring this extremely rare ashtray made of copper found on the beach. After some research i found that this is a craft made by hand in chile.
As you probably know Chile is the first copper producer in the world and many locals use this wonderfull metal for their craftmanships.
The restoration begins by making a blend for cleaning copper and/or brass and let this wonderfull ashtray sit overnight, i clean as much as posible the copper oxide with this blend but was not enough so i had to brush very gentle so as not to damage the material.
Then i had to correct many imperfections such as a bended tab and base after this i clean again with a soft steel brush then aplied 2 thin layers of protective coat. Finally the piece regain its former glory as the day it was in the chilean craftman who made it.
I am very happy with the result have much fun restoring this piece and hope the video is entertaing and relaxing for you.
