Jan Peerce Sings "My Yiddishe Mama"

The great American tenor, whose amazing career spanned vaudeville, popular music, Broadway, cantorial work, and a brilliant international operatic career, lends his magnificent voice here to an old sentimental classic, which has roots in early American vaudeville. Peerce's sense of artistic integrity and of never, ever playing down to an audience, make this possibly the most dignified and seriously musical rendition ever of this song.
