A Simple Time Tracker for the Minimalist Bullet Journal
In this week's minimalist bullet journal video I'm going to show you why and how I track all of my time in 15 minute increments. It helps me stay on track with the things I really want to be doing and spend my time on. I'll show you the exact process and bullet journal grid I use to spend my time on the things that matter.

Why would I do such a thing? Well, I've been tracking my time and tasks at work for over a year now, so I decided to try the same with the other 8ish waking hours of the day. I knew that there was probably little chunks of time available to spend on things that mattered to me, but in the moment I always felt that time was short. So I started tracking my time to measure what I was really spending my time on.
Where this all started - 1:44
The math behind the time grid - 2:58
Two types of grids - 4:59
How I spend my day - 6:02
Setting up the grid - 7:58
Weekend grid - 8:38
Extra grid layouts & recaps - 9:36
The inspiration for the 15 minute blocks is my spin on Tim Urban's "100 Blocks a Day" post at https://waitbutwhy.com/2016/10/100-blocks-day.html. Check out Tim's blog, it's amazing.
After a week of tracking my time I wanted to share my early results with you. This will be a work in progress for me, but already I'm getting better at noticing what I'm about to spend my time on, and redirecting it to something I'd rather do of lasting value. That could be journaling, more time with family, stretching, writing, or working on the vlog!
To help you start with time tracking and "find" the 15-30 minutes in your day, I'm hosting a 5 day time tracking challenge starting March 1st. Sign up here! [http://mattragland.com/5day-timetrack-challenge]
