From CNBC: Some of Manhattan’s wealthy Democrats are being forced to pick sides between Reps. Jerry Nadler and Carolyn Maloney, two of the party’s most powerful House lawmakers, in a primary race that is pitting the incumbents against each other in the city’s newly redrawn 12th district.
The lawmakers, longtime colleagues in the House, now have to fight each other to save their seats after a court ordered New York’s 12th congressional district to be redrawn. It now encompasses much of Nadler’s old district on the Upper West Side and Maloney’s on the Upper East Side.

Additionally Democrat Suraj Patel, who worked on President Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns and in his White House - and earned the endorsement for former Democrat presidential candidate Andrew Yang has entered the race claiming that both incumbents are just serving their wealthy donors who are currently fighting over them.

We have a historical race where two very long serving incumbents - House reps Carolyn Maloney and Jerry Nadler are facing off against each other due to redistricting -and a dark horse who can perhaps pull off a surprise.

With a receptive audience, Democrats Abroad organized a online meeting with the three candidates to address the concerns of Americans living abroad on Thursday July 7 2022. The event was to discussing American abroad issues including taxes - non-American abroad questions will not be asked at this event.

This is a historically important race for Americans abroad because there is no greater concentration of Americans abroad that vote than there are in this 12th New York district. We have never had a better opportunity to move the dial for Americans abroad! Enough to swing direction!
