Host Anthony Parent and Keith Redmond discuss Attorney John Richardson's latest article surrounding the myth-making of the word "Citizenship-based taxation," a phrase that is NOT found in the tax code.

On its surface, Citizenship-based taxation (CBT) sounds if not benign, at least fair - to a degree. However, as the three discuss the issue, CBT becomes more a euphemism. The word hides what it really is and how it really operates.

Residency-based taxation is far more simple and fair -- it would mean if you don't live in the US, and have no US-derived income, the IRS should leave you alone. But that is not at all how the US's very unique and aggressive tax policy works.

Most US Citizens don't know how much of a tax slave they are -- until they go overseas and try to live. Then they find out - just how insane and covetous the US government is.

Should taxation be based on the “circumstances of your birth” or the “circumstances of your life”? President Obama doesn’t think (apparently) that the “circumstances of your birth” birth should determine the “outcome of your life”. Should the “circumstances of your birth” determine your tax residency?
