RAM 2500 HEMI Lifter Noise | Does Your Engine Have the Hemi Tick? (Probably NOT)

I talk about the loud lifters and valve train on the 5.7 Hemi and 6.4 Hemi and if it is normal or not. I explain that these engines have naturally very noisy valve trains that may make some people believe there is a lifter issues or even the hemi tick but in fact it is completely normal and even brand new hemi engines sound like this!
So I have got a couple comments over the last couple months with people worried that there trucks may have a lifter issue or the hemi tick. when in fact it may just be the noisy valvetrain that these engines naturally have. if your engine does indeed have a lifter tick it will be nice and loud and very obvious. the other thing these engines are bad for is exhaust manifold leaking and they sound very close to a lifter issue. so just to put everyone's mind at ease these engines are naturally noisy and if you are still worried take our engine to a professional who knows what he is doing and they should quickly tell you if you actually have a problem. I also think the hemi ticks issues are becoming less prevalent and were most likely more of an issues on earlier 4th gen trucks. not to say they still don't happen but I think when RAM made a switch in lifter suppliers it made a difference!

now originally I wanted to make this shop talk about the differences between the 6.4 hemi and the 5.7 hemi as well as the differences between the 6.4 and the 6.4 srt engines. I figured they would be pretty close and similar engines but they are in fact all pretty different and so I just didn't feel like I had all the piece and right information as of yet to really dive in deep into why each engine is different. so stay tuned for that next week!

lastly I was hoping someone would have an idea as to how to keep small rocks and dirt out of my rear fender flares. it seems like rocks get stuck between the fender flare and the fender and it will probably cause paint damage. so hopefully someone has figured out a way to stop this from happening!
