Chevy 2500 6.6L NEW DURAMAX DIESEL Towing (L5P) *Heavy Mechanic Review* | Is It the BEST??

I Tow with this 2024 Chevy 2500 HD 6.6L New duramax diesel engine, the second gen L5P as a heavy duty mechanic. I put this new Duramax Diesel engine through some testing including Acceleration comparison, MPG comparison, Pulling big hills, Exhuaust brake testing and comparison between the ford powerstroke and the Ram Cummins diesel engines.

I was honestly very impressed with this new updated 2024 L5P duramax diesel engines on my towing loop. the previous L5P duraamx engine was fine but this truck made a big difference.

first up was our off the line acceleration test and well this Duramax comes with the 10 speed Allison transmission and it has the ability to fully Lock up the torque converter in first gear so this should give this Duramax diesel a very nice advantage over the competition.

Next up was the highway acceleration and this new Duramax Diesel was pretty quick beating the 6.7L cummins up to speed. the Powerstroke however was quicker and well that ford powerstroke is a very fast truck.

when it comes to the exhaust braking the previous L5P duramax engine was pretty weak in my opinion but this updated exhaust brake seems to be performing very very well. I was happily surprised with how well it worked. and it was much better then the powerstroke in my opinion.

when it comes to pulling big hill with a loaded trailer this is where the Duramax diesel shined. this engine was probably the best i terms of maintaing speed and pulling loads up the hills on my towing course. I was very very impressed with this Duramax engine.
