Review: Hydrow Arc Rower 🚣

I was gifted the new Arc Rower from @hydrow (I’m NOT a paid endorser) and I’ve been testing it out. Of all the cardio machines, rowers are the type I had the least experience with, and getting the hang of it on this Hydrow model is like learning to drive with a Mercedes—it may be more than I need at my level, but I ain’t complaining. @GQ named it the best rower of 2025.

SPECS
The rower itself is 86 in long, 25 wide, and 48 high, and it’s heavy. Unfortunately, it doesn’t fold up for storage unless you buy an add-on kit, but it does have wheels and rolls easily. The only real assembly needed is attaching the monitor, which has a beautiful 24-inch HD touchscreen.

EXPERIENCE
You can start with an assessment. The rower gauges your performance and tells you your fitness level. It teaches you technique and gives feedback on each session. Compete against other users and do virtual races on bodies of water from around the world. 🌊 The instructors even tell you fun facts about the area during the workout.
As someone who gets bored easily by aerobics, I found the virtual reality river rowing and company provided by the hosts very motivating. 👫

It’s not all rowing, either. There are more than 6,000 workouts to pick from (you read that right) and they include yoga, Pilates, and strength routines as well—filter them according to your interests to get a more manageable number to pick from.

PRICE
$2300 for the rower and $45/mo for membership (but it covers everyone in your home).
