The Nam: Vietnam Combat Operations (Hamburger Hill)

The battle of Hamburger Hill ( Đồi A Bia) in Vietnam's Ashau Valley in May 1969 was a classic example of the many hill fights fought during the Vietnam War, where American troops took heavy casualties to take a temporary objective such as a hill peak, only to cede it to the North Vietnamese and Vietcong after a few days.
Here we'll see a North Vietnamese battalion surrounding and wiping out an American reconnaissance platoon, then defending a hill against a full-scale infantry assault. The determined Americans push them off the peak and make it to the enemy base camp, but are again surrounded and overwhelmed. The Vietnamese soon reoccupy the hill and the cycle goes on, as it did in Vietnam.
The 'Nam : Vietnam Combat Operations is a real time strategy game created by Tiger Yan which recreates company-sized combat operations set during the American phase of the Vietnam War (1965 – 1973), termed by Vietnamese as the Second Indochina War.

Players can choose to play as the US Marine Corps or the Vietcong (VC) and People’s Army of Vietnam (PAVN).

Marines can draw support from additional service branches like the Army for Special Forces (SF) troops, plus the Air Force and Navy for land and carrier-based air support. The VC and PAVN in turn, can set-up and capture villages or go underground and fight from hidden tunnel systems.
