India's Monsoon Clouds Vanish From Satellite — What's Behind It

Satellite images from mid-June show monsoon clouds have largely thinned out across central, southern and eastern India, and weather department rainfall figures for the period are running well below the seasonal norm, despite the atmosphere still holding enough moisture to produce rain.

Meteorologists describe it as a temporary pause linked to wind patterns higher in the atmosphere rather than a failed season, with conditions expected to shift again.
