Bitter saliva gathered in my mouth when I saw my little friend Stephen eating an uncooked, rotten hoof from a cow that had died of some disease. There was a risk of getting sick eating that bone. Luckily, we had come with lunch, and with dishes to serve. That was good.
But more shock awaited us. We knew her house was dirty but had no idea how dirty it was. It was unimaginable, unthinkable how much dirt Dorcas's and Isaac's house has accumulated. We had never met that amount of dirt in the history of RUS. There's no way jiggers were going to be stopped from that home and there's no amount of talking that would help Dorcas clean her house. She was hoarding filth and this included feces, and it had become her hobby. Keeping urine in bottles - surely it must be mental illness and such is treated by helping the person get cleared first as medical help is sought out. It was a difficult task for us to get the house sorted out and cleaned.
