Biden looked like 'a weak kid trying to shout at the bully' during presidential debate

Donald Trump made some progress in highlighting some of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s weaknesses during a somewhat fractious first debate, according to The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan.

President Trump and Mr Biden began the first US presidential debate with heated exchanges over coronavirus, race relations and election integrity.

The two men frequently interrupted each other with angry interjections, with Mr Biden eventually snapping at his opponent: "Will you shut up, man?"

Mr Sheridan told Sky News it doesn’t matter who the media claim “won” the debate.

He said it is more pertinent to ask whether the debate moved any voters to the other side.

“I think Trump made some progress in highlighting Biden’s weaknesses,” he said.

“Trump needs the campaign to be more about Biden than it has been now. I think he made some progress on hurting Biden on law-and-order.

“Although Trump looked like a terrible bully, Biden looked like a basically weak kid in the playground trying to shout at the terrible bully.

“This is all very unedifying but that equation has worked for Trump in the past.”
