How Seemingly Small Acts of Obedience Can Have a HUGE Impact
We've made it to the end of Ruth! In this week's episode of Life in the Word we're exploring Ruth chapter 4, and we center our discussion around 3 key ideas. The first idea is that we need to trust God over our fears. In this story, we see how the unnamed kinsman-redeemer backs out of redeeming Ruth because he's scared of what this will do to his inheritance. If only he had trusted God, he could've been part of God's incredible plans for Ruth. We too must choose faith over fear and step into what God is calling us to. The second idea we explore is that we need to adopt a long view, recognizing that present difficulties don't mean God has abandoned us. We must trust God in the process. Persevere through times of difficulty with the hope that you have in Christ. The final point we explore is that there is no small act of obedience. Through Ruth, Boaz, and Naomi's "small" acts of obedience, God brings about GREAT things, specifically through the birth of King David. We all must realize that there is no small act of obedience, and God has plans for your faithfulness.
