0:05 The technician cut out the sections of wiring that were damaged and wired in some new wires. Then he covered the wires in flexible conduit and electrical tape. How the customer tried fixing the wiring is definitely not the way to do it! The wires should have been covered as well since they are close to the frame and a lot of road debris could damage the wires.
0:22 The mechanic is unsure why the customer would install new brake pads on these very rusted and worn brake rotors, however, the customer got new ones installed.
0:33 An important reminder if you have a leak you don't want to fix, keep an eye on it! In this case, the customer drove around for 6 months without fixing a leak which damaged the front differential which is going to cost a lot more.
0:53 As mentioned the propane mixer was touching the positive terminal on the alternator and when the hood was closed it was grounded out on the hood which caused the fuse to pop. The technician said he thinks the alternator circuit is shorted internally as well but the customer did not want that looked at or repaired. The alternator is still only charging at around 13v and should ideally be between 13.5v and 14.5v. Also very important to keep your covers on fuse boxes so you don't have a massive amount of dirt/debris enter the fuse block which could cause even more issues.
1:19 The shop installed a new oil pan and gasket. They think the customer drilled holes in the oil pan in hopes of removing the oil pickup tube to make the oil pan removal easier. The engine is a 4.7L (Chrysler). They didn't mention the model.
1:32 I would recommend never tying anything to your suspension or steering components. Resecuring splash shields can be done a lot easier than what the customer tried doing.
1:45 When the technician points to the floor you can see the scratch marks on the spare wheel. The customer had tried driving like this, but the car wouldn't move that well and that's why there's a flat spot on the spare tire as well. Good thing they ended up getting the vehicle towed in. It's almost brand new with only 2000 miles/3200 km on it!
2:05 We've seen this a few times on the channel where customers thought they bought a 4WD and didn't realize until after that it wasn't. If it's 4WD it should have a transfer case, front differential, front driveshaft, and a 4WD dial to engage the vehicle into 4WD.
2:16 No extra info.
2:24 The mechanic has no clue how the customer didn't mention anything about this absurd noise from the driveshaft hitting against the fuel tank.
2:39 "Customers DIY install of their racing seat and harness. That is NOT a harness bar in the back. NA Miata"
2:55 The customer must have broken a couple of transmission pan bolts when installing the new pan. Always torque those bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
3:06 The person who filmed this noticed this guy was taking a pick axe to the wheel of his car. He's unsure why but saw this when going to an appointment.
3:13 Outro. Thanks for watching!
