Ronald Romm, 'Gymnopedie #1' (Erik Satie)
The Gymnopédies, or 'Trois Gymnopédies', are three piano compositions written by the French composer and pianist Erik Satie (1866-1925). He completed the whole set by April 2, 1888, but they were at first published individually: the first and the third in 1888, and the second in 1895.
Ronald Romm (1946) is an American trumpet player, composer, arranger and teacher. He was a longtime member of the Canadian Brass and is widely acknowledged as one of the top trumpeters and clinicians today. Romm and his wife, Avis, continue an active performing career as a piano and trumpet duo.
