Ryan Anthony, 'Gabriel's Oboe' (Ennio Morricone)

The American Ryan Anthony (1969-2020) was a virtuoso trumpeter, known for his varied career as soloist, educator, chamber musician and orchestral player. He was the Principal Trumpeter Emeritus with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and also member of the Canadian Brass. He plays ‘Gabriel’s Oboe’, from the famous soundtrack written by the Italian composer, orchestrator, conductor and former trumpet player Ennio Morricone (1928-2020) for the movie ‘The Mission’ (1986), starred by Jeremy Irons (1948) as ‘Father Gabriel’, and Robert de Niro (1943) as ‘Rodrigo Mendoza’. Recorded in the album ‘Cancer Blows’ (2015).
