"I miss my ex. I miss my ex so much, I can't breathe. I miss my ex so much, I can't sleep, I can't eat, I can't do anything other than miss my ex."

When it comes to missing an ex, it's so important to assess why we miss our ex. And most of you will immediately say, "It's because I love them. I love my ex. I want them back. I want to resuscitate this relationship. I miss them so badly. I miss sleep. I miss eating. I miss living. I miss breathing. And feeling connected to someone and something greater than I am alone.

If this is you, you're not alone. Here's what we want you to think about. You miss your ex because you love them. And, if you love them, you will change, or you will fix, or you will work on whatever went south. You will honor your relationship, even if your relationship, right now, by changing.

Don't think about, "I miss them so much, I must call them." Think about, "I love them so much, which means I need to grow from this. I need to change this. I need to work on whatever in the world drove them out of my life, because this is not someone I am proud of being. I want to transform because I miss my ex."

Rather than, "I need to call my ex right now because I miss them," because what we're doing there is confusing a long-term vision for a short-term need.

You want to call your ex because you miss them, because it hurts, now today. But will calling them now server your long-term vision? What are you going to do when they pick up the phone? What are you going to do when they answer the door? Are you going to say you're going to change? Have you said that before? Are you going to say that things are different? But how are they different?

Chances are things haven't changed enough. Chances are if you don't pick up your phone right now, if you don't call your ex right now, you've just bought yourself another day to learn about who you are and the way in which you see the world. And you've bought yourself another opportunity to grow from all the mistakes you've made.
