Volkswagen Caddy 2023 - More Efficient and Charismatic Design

The new Caddy is 4,500 mm long and has a wheelbase of 2,755 mm. If that's not enough for you: the Caddy Maxi with a wheelbase of 2,970 mm and a wheelbase of 4,853 mm is more than 35 cm longer and offers even more space and options. Depending on requirements, long objects can also be transported, or excursions with up to seven people can be carried out in both the Caddy and the Caddy Maxi. An optional trailer hitch, depending on the engine, with a trailer load of up to 1,500 kg and a vertical load of 75 kg, and an additional bicycle rack provide even more flexibility during transport.

Up to two Euro pallets can also be loaded in the Caddy Cargo – with 1,230 mm there is now significantly more space between the wheel housings. In the Caddy Cargo Maxi, one pallet even fits through the side sliding doors, which are 840 mm wide, if required, the second one through the optional tailgate or rear wing doors of the city delivery van.

The Caddy as a station wagon and compact van is a five-seater in the standard version; the second row is equipped with a single seat on the passenger side and a two-seater bench seat. New: Their backrests can be adjusted in inclination. Of course, the tried-and-tested features are retained in the latest Caddy: the car and station wagon seats can still be folded and rolled up. And of course the seats can be removed again in no time at all. Optionally, two more individual seats in the third row also turn the shorter station wagon and compact van into a seven-seater. The three seats in the second row can not only be folded up to save space and also tilted forward, i.e. wrapped. They can also be removed completely in order to further increase the load space - to 2,556 liters in the short wheelbase or up to 3,105 liters in the Caddy Maxi. This makes the seating system of the Caddy extremely flexible.

Important for families: All outer rear seats and optionally the front passenger seat are equipped with Isofix mounts for securely anchoring appropriate child seats. The seats in the Caddy offer even more: folding tables on the backrests of the first row of seats are just as possible as drawers under the front seats. In the Caddy Life, for example, these tables and drawers come as standard.

The station wagon and the family van offer a luggage compartment volume of up to 2,556 liters (loaded to the roof up to the first row of seats, second row of seats removed); the luggage compartment volume with five people on board reaches an impressive 1,057 liters. The load compartment length of the station wagon and van up to the first row of seats is 1,913 mm; A maximum width of 1,185 mm is available between the wheel arches.

Despite its compact, urban dimensions, the new Caddy Cargo offers one of the largest load compartment widths in the competitive environment at 1,614 mm. Up to 1,230 mm are available between the wheel arches (Caddy Cargo). The maximum width between the wheel arches of the Caddy as a car is 1,185 mm. The new Caddy Cargo and the Caddy as a car/estate/family van also set standards with regard to the length of the load compartment: At 1,797 mm (Cargo) and 2,150 mm (Cargo Maxi) up to the partition, it is also one of the largest in the segment. The Caddy as a car/estate/family van has a load compartment floor length of 1,913 mm measured up to the first row of seats.

If something more has to be taken along, then the new Caddy generation scores with its high loading volume: In the case of the Caddy Cargo it is 3.1 m3 (standard wheelbase, according to the new measuring method, the SAE V6 standard) or 3.7 m3 (in the maxi). This is matched by the high maximum payloads of up to 700 kg and 780 kg (Maxi). The loading sill is comfortably low at 562 mm (Caddy Cargo: 586 mm). The roof load of the new Caddy is still 100 kg.
