In the Victorian era, London was becoming overrun with their dead. This led to the building of the magnificent seven cemeteries. Filled with hundreds and thousands of dead these cemeteries are now tourist attractions and have become a place where ordinary people can get close to the dead famous.

This is a two-part video. This first part is of the catacombs where the dead were placed in underground chambers on shelves in their coffins. Victorians could come into these catacombs and see the coffin of their loved ones and be close to them. So there are coffins of the dead in this video so viewer discretion is advised.
