Ta Ka Di Mi Loop City

This is one of my first thought out videos. Though drum covers take preparation, this was more a demonstration of my own voice. I got my self going by drawing on the South Indian Rhythmic System with the intention of creating a series dedicated to my studies with Jamey Haddad. Though my studies in hand drumming originate with a year of study with Jamey, I have successfully integrated electronics and hand drumming to better support the classes I accompany. I have worked with many dancers and choreographers and continue to be inspired by the art form and the relationship between music and movement. I rely on creating loops on the fly so that I have a bed of sound over which I can improvise and inject energy to motivate the dancers.
