Morris Goldenberg: Etude in 6/8 from Modern School for Snare Drum (pdf for stickings below)

Morris Goldenberg etude in 6/8 from Modern School for Snare Drum has always been a challenge for my students to learn. In an effort to bring attention to technique and quality of execution, I recorded this etude to be a resource to them and for me as a learning and teaching tool when learning solo snare repertoire. I will often slow the video down to show the position of the stick in regards to dynamics and stroke. I also perform this at the suggested tempo of dotted quarter = 100bpm and apply doubles throughout in order to relax the phrasing without compromising the tempo. I hope you find this video helpful.
