The Billabong Sanctuary is predominantly an Australian Native Animal Wildlife Park in a tropical bushland setting on the shores of a Billabong.
To put it simply, a Billabong is an Aboriginal word that refers to a large body of water, with its actual translation being 'a watercourse that only runs after rain'.
