Hang In There and Be Patient 🌧️🌦️🌅

It’s been raining a lot lately here in the Bay Area. And the pouring rain has not just been with the weather, but also metaphorically, many people have been experiencing a downpour of emotions.

As a leader, sometimes I feel the pressure to keep focused on the bottom line, stay mission-driven, and never let them see me sweat.

But even when the downpour of emotions feels impossible to overcome, or I have a hard time catching my breath, and I get tired of lying each time someone asks the softball 🥎 question 🙋🏾‍♂️ , How are you Doing? Como estas?

Sometimes, instead of giving frictionless answers, I create friction by trying to say something besides “I’m FINE.”

I am learning that even if I have to keep the #mask on during those fast encounters, I must give myself permission, grace and love to feel whatever emotions need to be felt through to completion.

I recently heard @simonsinek say about his group of friends, “No one cries alone.”

Sometimes, you have to Find trusted friends with who can hold space with you while you take off that mask and feel that feeling through to completion without trying to fix it.

Sometimes, that is all we need.
