FLEA MARKET FUN! | REAL WORLD FLEA MARKET EXPERIENCE

It had been a long dry spell with so many flea markets closed, but Luke’s Town and Country comes to life in this video as we shop for vintage bargains in the middle of the week!

This is an unvarnished look at the real flea market shopping experience, where I shop as a reseller, ferreting out the cool old stuff among an array of products ranging from chickens to tube socks. I really have fun flea market shopping, and am excited to take you with me on this real world experience!

Bright orange glass, Victorian sleeve crimpers and an early Mickey Mouse toy are all to be found, showing why flea markets are such fun places to shop for variety’s sake. Whether you want to pull a team of oxen with an old wooden yoke or light your room with a modernist floral floor lamp, there’s something to grab your attention. A visit with a dealer in ephemera shows us that the passion for vintage items is present in every venue where old stuff lurks.

When the heat gets intense, it’s time to duck into the permanent sheds, each with its own flavor of collectible. One shows a vast array of advertising clocks and ephemera, while another gives a clue that Army life might not have been everyone’s cup of tea. We talk about my strategy for finding things overlooked by starting at the edges, show how to tell a bread bowl might be fake and find lots to see…and a fair amount to buy.
