Tax Allowance and Deductions (Fradrag) | Taxes in Denmark | Episode 4

Allowances and tax deductions differ in Denmark. Allowance (fx. personal allowance) is standardized and it is automatically inputted in your tax statement. Personal allowance in Denmark is roughly 40,000 danish crowns. This is an amount of money that is tax-free and everyone in Denmark receives the same amount.

Deductions, on the other hand, differ based on a number of criteria such as your income, your wealth or your relationship status. The main deduction that you need to know about is the travel allowance. For every kilometer, you travel to work (should you travel more than 24km) you get money from the state. This is something that you need to input in the tax system yourself.

We've partnered up with Daniel from yourtax.dk, to give you overviews and tips, as to how to handle taxes as a student in Denmark.

This series will be followed by a live event in Aarhus, Denmark on the 24th of March 2020, where you can meet Daniel in person, and ask him any questions you might have regarding taxes. Follow our Facebook page so you won't miss it.
