Cable car accident in Turkey leaves passengers stranded

Rescuers finished evacuating the last dozen passengers trapped mid-air for 23 hours on April 13, 2024, after a cable car accident in southern Turkey. One car burst open on April 12 when a supporting pylon collapsed, killing one person and injuring 10 others, including children. A total of 174 passengers were rescued from 24 stranded cable cars after a “very dangerous operation”, according to officials.
