For the Left, 'political violence is apparently fine'

Threats of violence from the Left have amped up since President Donald Trump vowed to fill the Supreme Court seat vacated by the death of Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, according to Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

The associate justice died over the weekend aged 87 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

The vacant seat is set to become a massive political battle, as the President has already indicated he intends to nominate a replacement merely six weeks before the election.

Mr Bolt said Donald Trump means to fill the vacant spot before there’s any chance of him getting kicked out at the upcoming election.

“But the Democrats say, no, with the election this close it's not fair to make such an appointment,” he said.

“So be clear. There is no rule at all that says Trump can't or shouldn't do this.

“In fact, 29 Presidents have nominated a new judge in the last year of their term, and Biden himself four years ago defended fellow democrat Barack Obama when he did it in his last months.”

Mr Bolt said there have been threats of violence should President Trump nominate a replacement.

Former CNN host Reza Aslan Tweeted, regarding the likely appointment, “over our dead bodies, literally”.

The president of America's Writer’s Guild said, “we're shutting this country down if Trump and McConnell try to ram through an appointment before the election”.

Mr Bolt said “if Trump supporters set fire to American cities, murdered political opponents as some protesters have done, it they threatened to burn down congress if it appointed people they didn't like, and confronted democrats at their home – this would be an international scandal.”

“But because all this comes from the anti-Trump Left, you hear birds tweeting," he said.

“There is a shocking shift going on.

“Political violence is apparently fine.”
