Brahms Piano Concerto No 2 Fourth Movement Bronfman

During April of last year, Yefrim Bronfman returned to Los Angeles to perform the Brahms Second Piano Concerto at Disney Hall with the Los Angeles Philharmonic directed by guest conductor, Juraj Valcuha. This summer, he returned again to play the Brahms 2nd concerto at the Hollywood Bowl with Resident Conductor Lionel Bringuier directing the LAPO. Music critic Richard S. Gineel wrote that Bronfman "came to the Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday night armed with Brahms big ,bad bear of a Second Concerto itself known to have caused physical problems for some pianists.If there was any trepidation,any caution while dealing with some of those massive hand-stretching chords,leaps and octaves,Bronfman didn't let on. His huge bass sound thundered as always ,with sharp accents emphasizing key points. He could also melt into the orchestra with lyrical delicacy."
Here, Bronfman performs the 4th movement of the concerto with the Israel Philharmonic conducted by Zubin Mehta.
