First of all, if Bill Gates chose to keep his portfolio extremely concentrated in Microsoft as his peers have done with their respective companies, Bill Gates would have well over half a trillion dollars. But, more importantly, Bill Gates has made significant progress in fighting worldwide malaria and measles through his foundation: The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. On top of this, Bill Gates has made sure to keep his family life in check throughout the way. As a result, though Bill Gates may not be at the top of the billionaire's list, he no doubt leads one of the most balanced lives on the list.
