I love a fun shaped mini album! Instead of just putting these butterfly-shaped pages on a binder ring, I decided to turn this into a Coptic album with lots of charms, stitching straight down the center. That way, when you open the album, it’s like the butterfly is flapping its wings.

Cut your pages then fold them down the center. I used a tool that helps with Coptic binding to punch my holes, but you can also use a ruler and a foam mat. Then I also added some pretty embroidered fabric pages to the mini album.

After decorating all your pages, gather them together. Wax a piece of embroidery floss by running it along a chunk of bees or paraffin wax and then thread it through a tapestry needle. Using a running stitch, start on the inside of your album and stitch through one of the holes to the outside, leaving a long tail of thread. Add some charms then stitch back through the next hole going back to the inside. Stitch through the next hole to get back through the outside and add more charms.

Continue doing this until you get to the top then turn around and come back in filling in the missing stitches and adding charms. When you get back to the first hole, remove your needle and tie off the floss in a strong double knot and trim off the excess floss. Then decorate the front of your album and you are done!
