How to make oven baked meatballs in tomato sauce with cheese? Family recipe

This is a super easy and delish recipe for you to enjoy with friends and family! You most likely already had all that is needed in home to make this flavorful dish!
Here is what you will be needing:
Ground beef:
about 1 kg. beef (or ground beef from the store);
1 egg;
1/2 onion (minced);
50 gr. bread crumbs;
1 tsp salt;
1 tsp. black pepper;
1 tsp. red pepper;
1 tsp. cumin powder;
1/4 tsp. savory;
1/4 tsp. thyme;
I definitely recommend to season the ground beef before cooking it! You can definitely use spices upon your liking and if you are a spicy food fan add some hot red pepper to the ground beef! :))
Ingredients:
100 ml. tomato sauce;
1/2 onion;
3 garlic cloves;
1-2 potatoes;
1 large carrot;
100 gr. shredded cheese;
pinch of lightly dried basil (optional);
100 gr. shredded cheese;
