Folded Plane Glass House

Here is the concept design for a nearly 4,000 square foot home in the gated community of Colonia Miramonte, at the Camelback Inn. The main response to this home's site is to celebrate and frame the view of Camelback Mountain. The home utilizes the folded plane methodology. Opportunities are also taken to allow primary building materials to be expressed both inside and out. The initial concept is to have one mass clad in shou sugi ban or "burnt wood" finish, while the other would be a vein cut limestone cladding. The multiple axes of the home create independent outdoor living spaces.
