Autism & Hydration: Part 1

Even mild dehydration can have effects on how effectively our brains work, and many kids are regularly not consuming enough fluids. In today's video on this topic, I discuss why water is important and some of the ways we can teach kids how to drink enough of it. Part 2 next week!

I'm Christie, a Speech-Language Pathologist (M.S., CCC-SLP), a curriculum developer, and a specialist in early childhood developmental disorders. Thanks for joining me for this video! Find out more about me here: https://www.chirpcc.com/meet-christie.html

Whenever you believe a child has atypical sensory needs, it's a good idea to find a qualified Occupational Therapist who's a specialist in sensory integration (not all of them are!) A professional can definitely help you understand your child's needs better and work with you to figure out how to meet those needs in more appropriate ways.
