Conflicting Emotions Surrounding the Celebration of Canada Day

In preparation for a conference speech on Growth by Diversity, for Women Focus Canada I find myself lost for words. It's an honour to have been asked by Dr. Remi Adewale, to join this talented and prestigious group of women speakers today. The annual celebration of Canada Day is quickly approaching, yet the Canadian flags are flying half-mast, in recognition of the mental, physical, sexual abuse and death of our countries Indigenous Children. With a total of 966 unmarked graves found at Residential Schools in Kamloops and Regina, today, I find myself, an inspirational speaker, at a loss for words.
