Excerpted from Pink Martini's live concert at Edgefield in Portland, "Pata Pata" is the exuberant song written and made famous by South African singer Miriam Makeba, which was covered by Pink Martini on the band's album "Je dis oui!". Filmed on a rainy day in September 2021, soon after the band started touring again after a long hiatus during quarantine, this performance features lead singer China Forbes and guest singer Michael Moloi, a brilliant Oregon-based, South African-born singer and dancer who performed for years with Cirque du Soleil. This video is excerpted from an epic 3-hour concert that was also broadcast to the band's fans online.
