BRING ME THE HORIZON: How did they get so big??
My analysis of why and how Bring Me The Horizon became one of the biggest bands of their generation. I go over the 3 key factors for their success, and what it means for you from the perspective of marketing your band, music or product.
Some of what I cover:
- The 3 eras of their career: "Count Your Blessings" deathcore era; "Suicide Season" nu-metal/Slipknot era; "There Is A Hell"/"Sempiternal"/"That's The Spirit" rock era
- Why Oli Sykes' looks and charisma are key but NOT the sole reason for the band's success
- What it means that Bring Me The Horizon were on Earache Records and labelmates with Morbid Angel, Napalm Death and Entombed
- How they've consistently been 2-3 years ahead of the curve, moving on from deathcore and metalcore at the exact right times (during "peak metalcore")
- What getting Ben Weinman of Dillinger Escape Plan and Skrillex to do "Suicide Season" remixes says about BMTH's creative vision
- Why working with Henrik Udd and Fredrik Nordstrom on "Suicide Season" and "There Is A Hell" was such a brilliant choice for Bring Me The Horizon
