Now is the best time to leaf peep in the North Carolina mountains
Although fall leaves don't peak in Charlotte until early-mid November, now is the perfect time to leaf peep in the mountains!
A cool start to August had some leaves turning early, but the warm September helped us get back to a normal timeline.
That's according to Dr. Howard Neufeld, a professor of biology at Appalachian State University. He went out this week to check on the colors and says the best time to see them in the High Country is now.
