It’s time for another edition of Revelation where artists go in depth on their greatest 80s vinyl songs. On this installment of Revelations, I’m over the moon to share a part of a very recent zoom interview that I did with one the 80s greatest guitarists the magnificent Steve Stevens who supported Billy Idol through out his peak Cowriting with Billy on some of his greatest including the story of today’s hit: a song that made us want more more more: the top 10 smash Rebel Yell from the classic album of the same name. This song was the first single off the album in 1983 This was after billy had seduced the airwaves with the new wave classic Dancing With Myself. Rebel Yell actually didn’t make chart in the top 40 on it’s first run but was re-released in 1985 after Billy’s popularity rocketed, the story of how how this song came to be is really cool.
