Count Vladimir Vasilyevich Levashov (November 30, 1834 -May 26, 1898) was a general of Artillery, a participant of the Crimean War, Military Governor of Kuta and mayor of Odessa.
The Counts of Levashov were an ancient Russian noble family, descended from Tver boyars....
Countess Olga Viktorovna Panina received an English education, which she continued in Paris...she was very tall, with intelligent blue eyes and reddish hair and heir to the Panin family fortune.The Panins were an ancient Russian noble and county (since 1767) family dating back to the beginning of the 16th century ....
The countess married Count Vasilyevich in 1858. The wedding was in St. Petersburg in the Church of the Nativity of John the Baptist Corps of Pages. In 1865, she acquired the Gaspra estate in the Crimea , which after the death of her husband she gave to her beloved niece Sophia Panina .

The receptions held at the Levaskov's mansion on the Fontanka gathered the the best in St. Petersburg society. The photos shown here show a limited aspect of the mansion. One main salon and the rest the private quarters of the Lavashovs...
