Today we explore the Chihuahua Lake Trail near Keystone Ski Resort in Summit County, Colorado. It was a 7.2 mile hike from Peru Creek which means 14.4 for me including the return trip. The hike sees an elevation gain of 1,879 ft up to the lake which sits at 12,200 feet.

This is a gorgeous area with mountain streams running down the valley. Ponderosa pine and snow give texture to the jagged faces of the Rocky Mountains.
