The Station Niagara Mishap

"You have to go out, you don't have to come back" a motto coined by the U.S. Coast Guard's boat forces for decades. This attitude was the driving force of the USCG's Small Boat stations for far too long and often lead to avoidable casualties and deaths. On the 23rd of March, 2001, this would be the case. An easily avoided tragedy lead to the untimely death of two young Coast Guardsmen in the frigid waters of Lake Ontario.
