Fun & Easy Cocktail Recipes for Lockdown
Following on from our last video - all about the essentials to building your home bar - I thought I’d better show you 3 easy to make, but very different cocktails you can make with your new bar. The Jungle Bird, The Toreador and The Bees Knees.
The beauty of the last two is that with so few ingredients they are the kind of drinks you can still whip up when your bar stocks have been plundered - or when you’ve been in lockdown for a couple of months!

0:27 - The Jungle Bird
3:02 - The Toreador
5:12 - The Bees Knees

The Jungle Bird
45ml (1 &1/2oz) dark rum - Diplomatico Mantuano
45ml (1 &1/2oz) pineapple juice (I prefer long life, but you can certainly use fresh and may just have to up the sugar)
15ml (1/2oz) Campari
15ml (1/2oz) fresh lime juice
10ml (1/3oz) cane sugar syrup (to taste)
A pineapple and cocktail cherry to garnish
The Toreador
40ml (1 & 1/3oz) blanco tequila - Arette (or Calle 23)
20ml (2/3 oz) Marionette Apricot Brandy (otherwise Massanez and Cartron both make good quality ones).
20ml (2/3oz) fresh lime juice
1 dash Mr Bitters fig and cinnamon bitters (or Angostura works just as well!)
5ml (1/6oz) sugar syrup (to balance depending on your brand of apricot brandy)
No garnish
The Bees Knees
50ml (1 & 2/3oz) Plymouth Gin (a classic London Dry)
20ml (2/3oz) honey water
Try to use decent quality honey, and you can experiment with different types as they will give different flavours.
20ml (2/3oz) fresh lemon juice
Lemon twist to garnish
