The National Trust took ownership of Polesden Lacey in 1942. It's last owner was Dame Margaret Greville a famous socialite at the turn of the 20th century.
She was known for her lavish parties, thrown for Royalty, Politicians and celebrities. Even providing the estate as a honeymoon retreat for the future King and Queen of England.
