香格里拉高山植物園，是世界上海拔最高的植物園。成立22年，搶救性地遷地保護了超過400種當地特有的高原植物。創始人方震東今年58歲，從事植物工作40年，是著名的滇西北植物及植被生態學家。當年，賬上只有4萬塊錢，他靠拼命接活，四處籌錢，建造起中國第一家由民間非營利機構管理的植物園。在乏人問津的高原，孤獨、倔強地守住一株株植物。

The Shangri-La Botanical Garden is the highest botanical garden in the world. In its 22 years of existence, more than 400 species of endemic plateau plants have been protected in rescue ex situ. The founder, Fang Zhendong, 58 years old now, has been working with plants for 40 years and is a well-known plant and vegetation ecologist in northwest Yunnan. At that time, there was only 40,000 yuan on his account. He exerted his utmost effort to raise money to build China's first botanical garden managed by a non-profit organization. On the neglected plateau, lonely and stubbornly, he holds on to the plants.
