Advanced 808 Tricks and Tips (Tutorial) | Using 808s in your beat is commonplace nowadays, but if you use them just like everybody else is, it’s an easy way to have your beat sound common as well. Shaping and warping your 808s with some advanced techniques in order to help them stand out and contribute to your beat’s unique character is something you may want to consider the next time you make a trap beat.

Today I am going to show you guys a few different 808 tricks in FL Studio that you can use in order to achieve this. We will be covering 808 slides, but done in a more unique way in order to add a sense of movement to our 808s. Beyond just 808 slides, we can also use pitch modulation with our 808s to achieve something new with our old 808s. As well, learning how to use portamento to an advanced degree is also key.

Even though these techniques are shown in FL Studio, you can use these as well if you are using Maschine, Logic, Ableton, Garageband or any other DAW out there
