5 Styles of Drums for Beatmaking (Tutorial) | If you are making a beat, understanding the different approaches to coming up with your drums and creating drum patterns is going to be tantamount. In this tutorial video, I am going to be showing you guys 5 different styles of drums for beatmaking. Whether you are making a trap beat, a lofi beat, boom bap, or any hip hop beat in between, today’s video is going to help you out.

Not only will we look at how to create these drums and what makes each style unique, we will also look at how to better program our drum patterns so they sound better in our hip hop beat. By the end of it, I am hoping you will have a better understanding of how to choose the best drums for your beats.

Even though I made this video in FL Studio, these same techniques will apply no matter what DAW you use, whether it’s Ableton, Logic, Garageband, or any other DAW.
