A new social media campaign is picking up steam, designed specifically to get both the House and the Senate away from their vacation homes and back in Washington working on a Phase 4 disaster relief bill.

If you’ve been on Twitter or Facebook in the past week, you’ve likely seen the #OccupyCongress hashtag trending.

This campaign is a bipartisan effort from us, the normal American people, hoping to show Congress just how badly we still need another stimulus package.

In addition to plastering social media with #OccupyCongress, the movement has caused thousands of people to email, call and leave messages with their state’s Representatives and Senators to get back to work on another stimulus bill.

I think this is a great idea, as everyday people can now show their distaste for Congress’ inaction on another stimulus package.

Meanwhile, some people are worried that the new $25 billion post office bill that was passed by the House on Saturday will actually do more to harm the mail delivery service.

In fact, the people that believe that ARE the USPS!

In a statement released last night, the postal service stated: "We are concerned that some of the requirements of the Bill, while well meaning, will constrain the ability of the Postal Service to make operational changes that will improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ultimately improve service to the American people."

The statement continued: "We reiterate that the Postal Service is fully capable and committed to delivering the nation’s election mail securely and on time, and will do everything necessary to meet this sacred duty."

Wow, I didn’t expect the USPS to turn down $25 billion and give the House the old “thanks, but no thanks.”

Hopefully they can get this important issue handled, with or without $25 billion.

Finally, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has been making the media rounds recently, and made some interesting comments about President Trump’s interest in signing additional executive actions.

When asked if Trump is considering additional executive orders and memorandums, Meadows stated: “Listen, we’re always looking at options that we can deploy from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.”

Meadows continued: “Never underestimate the dysfunction of Congress, and never underestimate the ability of this president to try to figure a way to meet the needs of the American people.”

We’ll see if Meadows is telling the truth and hopefully, President Trump can move some more money around so that he can sign another executive action granting us another round of stimulus checks.

But with the Republicans wrapped up in their big convention and the House focused on the post office, it remains to be seen when we will actually get another completed stimulus package and more $1,200 stimulus checks.
