Days of torrential rain and flash floods that began on December 17, 2023, have paralysed parts of India's southern state of Tamil Nadu. Over 31 people have been reported dead by local authorities, as the coastal state continues to recover from damage caused by Cyclone Michaung. Over 12,500 people were evacuated while hundreds of others are still stranded in high waters with few supplies.
